My husband, Bryant, blogged tonight and that left me feeling inspired and slightly guilty because I have been talking about starting a blog for a while. But in between working, cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the baby, who has time to blog?! Some people do, apparently.
I vaguely remember Jon Acuff saying that you make time for the things you want to do and how he woke up at 5 a.m., an hour before his family, to make time to write. He said that even though we’ll always have responsibilities, it’s about figuring out where there are some margins in our current lives. Well, here’s my margin, at 4:47 a.m. when I’m up with my 3-month-old son and he’s cooing and playing.
Continuing with the introductions, I guess now would be a good time to tell you who I am.
I’m a Malayalee (South Indian descent) female born in New Delhi, India, raised in Edison, New Jersey, currently making a home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I am married to a God-fearing and always entertaining African-American man (scandalous, I know) and we have a BEAUTIFUL three-month-old baby boy named, Lucas. Is it wrong to say that my son is gorgeous? I’m not trying to be vain but he is pretty darn handsome. You decide.
I believe everything has a purpose and I didn’t want to start this blog if there wasn’t a purpose. I found one.
To prepare you single folks for what lies ahead and to vent to the married ones about this journey.
I’m trying to hurry up and finish this first post because I hear the baby snoring (thank God) and every new mom knows that when the baby sleeps, you sleep!
Thanks for checking out my mommy/wife diary!
